Babies in Denver/Molly Brown

I went to Denver last week to see Brittany. Grant had to go out of town for work. So I went to visit. We had a wonderful time. The week before Kristin(Grant's sister) had a baby girl, Aspen. So I was blessed to see and hold her. She is just precious.

Then I had the opportunity to visit with Lilli (Grant's other niece). She is just full of herself. At the cute age of one, she makes us laugh so much.

Then last but not least, I got to help Brittany nanny some. The little boy, Elliot, is 6 months old. He is learning to spit, find his fingers and trying to set up.

Yes, it is funny seeing Brittany take care of a baby. She is doing a great job and loves this little boy.

On Thursday, Britt and I went downtown to "Molly Brown's house". You might know her for the movie about Molly Brown or being a survivor of the Titanic. Actually her name was Maggie but the media changed it when they made the movie. You see Maggie doesn't rhyme very well with other words for songs. (Haggie, saggie, laggie, etc) So the name was changed to Molly. (Jolly, golly, etc)
Her husband, was a great miner of silver in Colorado. When silver was worthless then he developed mining for gold. Of course, they were rich fast. She is also known for being an outspoken lady for the Irish people. These people were who she had a heart for because of her heritage. Since they had money, she tried to educate herself. Being from Mo with only an 8th grade education she desired more education. So she learned many languages and instruments. In the house, she had 2 pianos. One was for Molly to play and one was for her servants. See when she had a piano lesson she felt like she was paying for the time. So who cared how many were actually taking the lesson. (piano, languages, etc) Educating her people was so important to her and her legacy.
They wouldn't let us take pics in the house but here is one from the outside.

The week was awesome with Britt! I did miss Greg and Gizmo. I get to go tomorrow to see Parker!
