I have been able to take seriously the importance of rest for my life. Of the many exciting activities I was able to enjoy, winter camping was one of the most memorable. Peter Ivey and I had the ambitious plan to go backpacking for three nights at St. Mary's Glacier. We had an incredible time, going sledding down a mountain, carving out a three leveled snow cave, and hiking to the top of the glacier. After two wet and cold miserable nights, we decided to head back early. We packed up our gear, loaded our bags on the sleds, and sledded all the way back down the trail to our car. I put together a short video of our tip (not anything super professional), so here it is, enjoy!<br /><object width="384" height="313"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6JhidaseTJw&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6JhidaseTJw&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="384" height="313" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>Grant.Gubserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15021312527363047018noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810354921682381601.post-39362669492239123012009-12-15T13:47:00.001-08:002009-12-15T13:57:51.941-08:00Finals Week!!!Four more days of finals! I have one tonight, one tomorrow night, and then a Paper due on Friday! <br /><br />I can't tell you how glad I am to have the semester over. I have absolutely loved it, but there is just something extremely refreshing about having a good break. I plan to do as many fun activities as possible over this winter! I don't have to go back to school until January 25, so until then, life should be another adventure! <br /><br />In the meantime, I created a video with my buddy Peter Ivey for our Outdoor Leadership Class. I'd love for you all to take the time to watch it, we had lots of fun making it!<br />(let it load a little before it starts to play, and put it in full screen)<br /><br /><object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zw-3pFX0lOE&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999&hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zw-3pFX0lOE&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999&hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object><br /><br />Hope you all enjoyed it!Grant.Gubserhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15021312527363047018noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810354921682381601.post-24031395585673061752009-10-19T15:30:00.000-07:002009-10-19T15:31:02.150-07:00Our New Home!!!!<h3 class="post-title entry-title"> <a href="http://wildnobility.blogspot.com/2009/10/our-new-home.html">Our New Home!!!!</a> </h3> <div class="post-body entry-content"> <p><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLVX-HQ8aQoqRbPy2dJuOpNa-2og0I9QAmAdkHJEMU6-JeH6WauJtgRUyw5_cht3OdO8nkoT1fBSi2BDKFSRF404RSp1043H4L-TRLC3I_dZNMIQnYdmIvDt9ASzpDwzlA6fnx5Fqkruk/s1600-h/'09+Villa+-+finished+012.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLVX-HQ8aQoqRbPy2dJuOpNa-2og0I9QAmAdkHJEMU6-JeH6WauJtgRUyw5_cht3OdO8nkoT1fBSi2BDKFSRF404RSp1043H4L-TRLC3I_dZNMIQnYdmIvDt9ASzpDwzlA6fnx5Fqkruk/s320/'09+Villa+-+finished+012.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394438871628739938" border="0" /></a>Here are a few pics of the new place. If you notice, at the back windows we have shutter blinds which are throughout the entire house. We love them because you can open the tops or bottoms independently. Privacy is so nice but able to let light in the tops in the morning.<br /><br />Just loving it here and can't wait for you guys to visit. So far the Dane B & B has been just as busy as the last location. We were here 4 days and one of Britt's friends' came through headed to Boston. Grant, Emily (Parker's girlfriend), Emily's best friend, Parker, my family from NY, Parker's friend from Lee, Ryan (Gizmo's sitter) have already broken in the guest room. Parker texted today and another friend of his needs a place to stay this weekend, too. HA! Greg's niece, Shelly, has reservations for Nov and Dec, already. So the guest room is being used quite frequently. So please come and see us but make a reservation. HA!</p> </div> <div class="post-footer"> <div class="post-footer-line post-footer-line-1"> <span class="post-author vcard"> Posted by <span class="fn">Gina</span> </span> <span class="post-timestamp"> at <a class="timestamp-link" href="http://wildnobility.blogspot.com/2009/10/our-new-home.html" rel="bookmark" title="permanent link"><abbr class="published" title="2009-10-19T17:13:00-05:00">5:13 PM</abbr></a> </span> <span class="post-comment-link"> <a class="comment-link" href="https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=1640425985300166900&postID=8264014807864753959" onclick="">0 comments</a> </span> <span class="post-backlinks post-comment-link"> </span> <span class="post-icons"> <span class="item-control blog-admin pid-1968386713"> <a href="post-edit.g?blogID=1640425985300166900&postID=8264014807864753959" title="Edit Post"> <img alt="" class="icon-action" src="img/icon18_edit_allbkg.gif" /> </a> </span> </span> </div> <div class="post-footer-line post-footer-line-2"> <span class="post-labels"> </span> </div> </div>Ginahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14565549510515872727noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810354921682381601.post-45645966449100493662009-08-24T12:11:00.000-07:002009-08-24T12:22:50.915-07:00Personalized Mattes<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCcjuXZ6tfpCczraGX-1O48WY9jnwLn5EwW9SvWggQtDJgIuRZ9l8t6oyRcJtikA0YF8NZIt6GF1VA6K4uu1hFN0yY1FE2Ft58bRtJJSBXZcxWDFG-DIae3jAuSVyGqxdeQRIPURYbHywH/s1600-h/matte+close+up.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCcjuXZ6tfpCczraGX-1O48WY9jnwLn5EwW9SvWggQtDJgIuRZ9l8t6oyRcJtikA0YF8NZIt6GF1VA6K4uu1hFN0yY1FE2Ft58bRtJJSBXZcxWDFG-DIae3jAuSVyGqxdeQRIPURYbHywH/s400/matte+close+up.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373612825672739042" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl_yTTjfEHHIQAtRCPrtwmIEXVyVyCWLxSqPTR2XkaaZseUHwDG9hSlsGn3fVDCNY-lCPoHUgmx40rzFn95vLrZELV6k7Q3aaSrC5LaSAvjT-ZutvWNEND4QGcCkiNptnEui2CgdKZrJgD/s1600-h/calligraphy+on+matte.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl_yTTjfEHHIQAtRCPrtwmIEXVyVyCWLxSqPTR2XkaaZseUHwDG9hSlsGn3fVDCNY-lCPoHUgmx40rzFn95vLrZELV6k7Q3aaSrC5LaSAvjT-ZutvWNEND4QGcCkiNptnEui2CgdKZrJgD/s400/calligraphy+on+matte.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373612045584106258" border="0" /></a>I think this is a great way to personalize a picture in a frame. Robyn set up a table at her reception to place pictures of her deceased grandparents. She had me write something personal about them at the top and the bottom of the matte. I've also done calligraphy on a matte of an engagement picture where the bride and groom wrote a thank you note to their parents. It was really cool. There are all sorts of things you can do with this idea!<br /><br />Sorry Family! This was supposed to be on my calligraphy blog! Oh well! For those of you who may not know what this is...well, it's like an online treasure hunt where people hide "treasures" in places all over the world. Then they try to find these "treasures" or chaches using their GPS and the coordinates found online.<br /><br />It sounded like fun. I wondered if there would even be anything close to Clinton. When I looked them up online, I was AMAZED to see TWO in a twenty mile radius from mom and Dad's house. One was in Arlington and the other was on PEERY ROAD!!! How wild is that? There were some clues that we had to unscramble. The boys figured out that it said something about a tree farm. Kris knew exactly where it was. So although we didn't have the right cord to hook the our GPS to the computer to get the coordinates in, we thought we would at least try to find it since Kris knew the cache would be at the tree farm. <br /><br />We got there and looked around forever - but to no avail. Even the owner of the house on the property (who knew Dad, by the way - and was on his way to Luke's Restaurant in Arlington - hee!), tried to tell us where it was but the weeds were too high for us to find the cache. We did, however, find something - chiggers. (We learned that later in the week!) The owner told us that a man placed the cache there in honor of his sister who got married in Arlington. Geocachers were told to place happy anniversary wishes inside. He would later present the cards to the happy couple! Although we didn't find the treasure, the hunt - even with the chiggers - was fun!<br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgUdQ4uXBjbblV52XQkaJYfAz2QgJndSVJbwsm2Rv702rZ_Hk0qZXSV-zQkYHXha67HtLfvKEUqc-8BYKFCsV6dTk_kBuy78kLzNuzL2XXdHjpUfOPfaWQ_bZ6hqSq-hXTzUWv8xU2xrfT/s1600-h/June+09+015.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgUdQ4uXBjbblV52XQkaJYfAz2QgJndSVJbwsm2Rv702rZ_Hk0qZXSV-zQkYHXha67HtLfvKEUqc-8BYKFCsV6dTk_kBuy78kLzNuzL2XXdHjpUfOPfaWQ_bZ6hqSq-hXTzUWv8xU2xrfT/s400/June+09+015.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369274349823826594" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUQiNqp8QlfYerwYpd-wQ8ABInufuChTWvSFprMce4iumZy5C2mBEurG464REVMkLPZM3QG83FOzLX8WUSCdBlMEOIG0nnppiP1XiR1xGRrH5H59dFEiIa7o8MeUb2fKfFwaj_M3U97fJf/s1600-h/June+09+016.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUQiNqp8QlfYerwYpd-wQ8ABInufuChTWvSFprMce4iumZy5C2mBEurG464REVMkLPZM3QG83FOzLX8WUSCdBlMEOIG0nnppiP1XiR1xGRrH5H59dFEiIa7o8MeUb2fKfFwaj_M3U97fJf/s400/June+09+016.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369274080212391378" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipvsPRfoBZuR_1Z2afn5jAcItmyROMLcBZ9NXlMSD6emQkp8B0P0iEO966clKPgG_3HbIbUx8OMs70LeSoHgeyzbQ1LUSP5C-qN3-FYrCXmCcHBWNuxK5kTKMvyh2oVGyKtTlDu7ZsWou7/s1600-h/June+09+017.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipvsPRfoBZuR_1Z2afn5jAcItmyROMLcBZ9NXlMSD6emQkp8B0P0iEO966clKPgG_3HbIbUx8OMs70LeSoHgeyzbQ1LUSP5C-qN3-FYrCXmCcHBWNuxK5kTKMvyh2oVGyKtTlDu7ZsWou7/s400/June+09+017.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369273773437381298" border="0" /></a>Shannanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09880318650631885393noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810354921682381601.post-52970513959707303082009-08-10T08:35:00.000-07:002009-08-10T08:37:11.369-07:00Update on the Villa<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjzeu2JRAKAJftyAh2yXGPZBBGwZCxqQ84cS5ZeeCAHvKPVzJZueDcpard-yiZ4MVlhWSRxSWjj6uQGe7t2PWQS8wCuoqWGo70WUtJ9cFos_JMTHyO-VFuwR7uZ2ajyebFuSFnIiXVBT8J/s1600-h/2009+Villa+Construction+Pictures+042.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjzeu2JRAKAJftyAh2yXGPZBBGwZCxqQ84cS5ZeeCAHvKPVzJZueDcpard-yiZ4MVlhWSRxSWjj6uQGe7t2PWQS8wCuoqWGo70WUtJ9cFos_JMTHyO-VFuwR7uZ2ajyebFuSFnIiXVBT8J/s320/2009+Villa+Construction+Pictures+042.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368359565701984226" border="0" /></a><br />This last week we got really excited because we started seeing some real construction completed. <br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdNbC-NrA-qTFN_5nCI4rMG1TxOaO1PTTKbyfmO2LX_9PkRTPx8LtmApt5-IXzjtj1B2oCZ7mGPgrxaENjtdl3OFdqkWbN5Sg7zYi67ak6kuyfwP42_IEIIOyols8kk8mn7gm44qzU2-0/s1600-h/2009+Villa+Construction+Pictures+044.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdNbC-NrA-qTFN_5nCI4rMG1TxOaO1PTTKbyfmO2LX_9PkRTPx8LtmApt5-IXzjtj1B2oCZ7mGPgrxaENjtdl3OFdqkWbN5Sg7zYi67ak6kuyfwP42_IEIIOyols8kk8mn7gm44qzU2-0/s320/2009+Villa+Construction+Pictures+044.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368354689246327186" border="0" /></a><br />The ceramic tile was put onto the fireplace. So we are going according to plan.<br /><br />This week we are at our friends, Pam & Eddie Fuqua's. They are in Dallas on vacation meeting their kids. Please pray for them, too. Yesterday they spent 6 hours in the ER because someone had rear ended them. They are all OK but really sore and Natalie has a whiplash.<br /><br />Look for another update next week. The appraisal came in at the selling price so that confirmed the transaction for us. Closing will be this Friday at 3pm.<br /><br />Yesterday, we had a huge yard sale. Greg sold his riding lawn mower, yard tools, gardening tools and many, many more items. It was a success.<br /><br />After returning from our wonderful trip from Denver, we decided to buy the villa. By the way, to us it is a condo but they say it is a villa. Not sure what the difference is but whatever. It is a new villa so we are able to pick out all the colors, flooring, appliances, hardware and lighting. There are 2 villas to a building. We are the villa on the left of the building. On the back, you will see a covered porch and patio the length of the villa. It is sort of on a hill so we look down onto the walking trail. We were thrilled to have the trees behind us for privacy. Here are a few pics.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq5HdqmwDY0kqqz99iLDUDpQ_f27RdRO6k5nWHTYIrx7gEVpv5tAJIVqPLOuX7sOXsj_qqRRDUIOgffujF8_44vzcRa8FuuNZDt1FWoZAcLFAbnbi9DqoUz3CjRndkJUNEiDoo6wfYeBg/s1600-h/CondoPics2009+002.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq5HdqmwDY0kqqz99iLDUDpQ_f27RdRO6k5nWHTYIrx7gEVpv5tAJIVqPLOuX7sOXsj_qqRRDUIOgffujF8_44vzcRa8FuuNZDt1FWoZAcLFAbnbi9DqoUz3CjRndkJUNEiDoo6wfYeBg/s320/CondoPics2009+002.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360347619155432146" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq90jj-6_xXmjl5cGMMjm2xLW4iW5biaTQmWqg6luWSmQJd92gSf3e1kD0Sda3a5OIxNN_N7W9TOvtvja3G07Dp-8GBjFyJdNoW9TsJ7fZ8s2J6z4ktTv-dyX3upKWbbWIrhD6l_clyc0/s1600-h/CondoPics2009+004.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq90jj-6_xXmjl5cGMMjm2xLW4iW5biaTQmWqg6luWSmQJd92gSf3e1kD0Sda3a5OIxNN_N7W9TOvtvja3G07Dp-8GBjFyJdNoW9TsJ7fZ8s2J6z4ktTv-dyX3upKWbbWIrhD6l_clyc0/s320/CondoPics2009+004.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360347937775377346" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibzaDNrfUvSE6kyiHxoSpbwyUb4L-SthsBSgxdqcXX329yr3b4vyr_pMUQK3RfiYMhSBVaMUbr2E_LJ3siX1QzxZiyUmN-M_YfkA0PpEZutT6CnQCDYCY7zErOc3i_6QjQFUEOz9RI06w/s1600-h/CondoPics2009+005.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibzaDNrfUvSE6kyiHxoSpbwyUb4L-SthsBSgxdqcXX329yr3b4vyr_pMUQK3RfiYMhSBVaMUbr2E_LJ3siX1QzxZiyUmN-M_YfkA0PpEZutT6CnQCDYCY7zErOc3i_6QjQFUEOz9RI06w/s320/CondoPics2009+005.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360349346178505410" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUkLlqmqcFnM-n1JxPl24YNpaVV8eJtAmi4xHmhPwDjvMhw0iPwDsG1-Vk6Y1AtoVQgzGjcBEU30bnneN62iZ6RYZDu-sb0vUXuNf5kDI4qo31GLyuTXmHBWBGZVXTErso1fT7TIyXG64/s1600-h/CondoPics2009+007.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUkLlqmqcFnM-n1JxPl24YNpaVV8eJtAmi4xHmhPwDjvMhw0iPwDsG1-Vk6Y1AtoVQgzGjcBEU30bnneN62iZ6RYZDu-sb0vUXuNf5kDI4qo31GLyuTXmHBWBGZVXTErso1fT7TIyXG64/s320/CondoPics2009+007.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360349546861952050" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We are moving out this Saturday. Everything will go into 2 pods and delivered to the villa. They will set there for 2-3 weeks until villa is complete. In the meantime, Greg, gizmo and myself are homeless. HA! I have a client that has offered for us to stay at her place while she is gone on vacation for a week. Then some of our best friends (Debbie & Wesley) have offered for us to stay with them a week, too. Eddie and Pam are going on vacation for a week as well and we are house sitting for them. So hopefully, we will be ready to move in by the time Eddie and Pam get home from Texas.<br />It is all so exciting but a bit stressful. Greg will be traveling some with work so I'm going to try to go with him some. This will allow the time to pass for us quickly. I will continue my business by making house calls. This isn't fun but will keep my clients happy and me an income. HA!<br /><br />Last but not least, after the yard sale we had a family reunion to attend.<br />This was for Greg's mother's side of the family. <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWZKoFqYJlhyphenhyphenBMaty6S6SVEh3M0SDOr2-Spm-bAS3Dh6M04grFaiN9IalbXrlB4eww_ieNTFjKgd7i7LwFaFmVgdOfOTYtE2CcX0wvIxvCw4oG6KWJLCL0bFwdTvu647dXHYnn1rVnXBs/s1600-h/2009CampbellReunion+021.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWZKoFqYJlhyphenhyphenBMaty6S6SVEh3M0SDOr2-Spm-bAS3Dh6M04grFaiN9IalbXrlB4eww_ieNTFjKgd7i7LwFaFmVgdOfOTYtE2CcX0wvIxvCw4oG6KWJLCL0bFwdTvu647dXHYnn1rVnXBs/s320/2009CampbellReunion+021.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360352281197278146" border="0" /></a><br />Here is a picture of him and his Aunt Margaret.<br />She looks just like his mom but they aren't twins.<br /><br />You can expect more pics as construction is completed.Ginahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14565549510515872727noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810354921682381601.post-64482817711995396462009-07-05T16:23:00.000-07:002009-07-05T17:04:34.453-07:00New York Visit!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5zb740c9IWQ3qYnRcFgaBAqu5-3rguntzqUl3YJfZT1Sapf9Nhv2AF1Nb6hvfrmYmAKkBhtcg2tl-32RV6NcsvnKaFtiO1q5pePr8H95GRIL3s0EIOo_2fN18O6IJNjL-2hIkrqaTMI2m/s1600-h/July+NY+Trip+2009+011.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5zb740c9IWQ3qYnRcFgaBAqu5-3rguntzqUl3YJfZT1Sapf9Nhv2AF1Nb6hvfrmYmAKkBhtcg2tl-32RV6NcsvnKaFtiO1q5pePr8H95GRIL3s0EIOo_2fN18O6IJNjL-2hIkrqaTMI2m/s320/July+NY+Trip+2009+011.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355128168232791170" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZLVonXCIjrY3UNZnsfrc2CuGyq_OALVgrMs-t817jMEEQ8QdyxHYs9EhBDZdHw_P80tZPVwZGR-F0lHRcb2251vZI1CLmIBOa1D7mscCcfwYXGNdnwuZ-3AgD7LiY0QKhZf1kjoRtTxuP/s1600-h/July+NY+Trip+2009+009.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 315px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZLVonXCIjrY3UNZnsfrc2CuGyq_OALVgrMs-t817jMEEQ8QdyxHYs9EhBDZdHw_P80tZPVwZGR-F0lHRcb2251vZI1CLmIBOa1D7mscCcfwYXGNdnwuZ-3AgD7LiY0QKhZf1kjoRtTxuP/s320/July+NY+Trip+2009+009.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355124039425721986" border="0" /></a><br />We went to see the family in NY for the 4th of July weekend. Kristin baked a huge ham, Alisa brought spritzer drinks (A-mazing), strawberries and cool whip, and Grant and I made our family salad (AKA, "Shannan's salad"), deviled eggs, and Pecan-Gouda crescent rolls. As you can tell we had quite the feast!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAA7851V2oR9w9gFxDt_NzuNki-uogtwCVmRNu2XwWnjzp9rQ6d2A_gUQmhvKdNwf6t-tiQDHim9Dhc1vkiePUoU-WisdA8xNXUJ2sGxh0SBYIK6yCCHXvBmmhshntXR-yf8NrRp1Gzves/s1600-h/DSCN0464.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAA7851V2oR9w9gFxDt_NzuNki-uogtwCVmRNu2XwWnjzp9rQ6d2A_gUQmhvKdNwf6t-tiQDHim9Dhc1vkiePUoU-WisdA8xNXUJ2sGxh0SBYIK6yCCHXvBmmhshntXR-yf8NrRp1Gzves/s320/DSCN0464.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332562009057470178" border="0" /></a>All of us had really been missing our parents and extended family, so this dinner was really special to share with one another. To add to the festiveness I crafted some homemade place cards/menus for everyone (even miniatures for Lili and Aspen). This was a tradition originally started by my cousin Kim for the Christmas holidays. From there, her sister Shannan continued the tradition.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiImpL_-ThO9QgIxEO00zQorWYdt0kwGkR4Jk2sGFiGgy791ccIvabjuUixDS7ZC661p6uWoO09OA6LVMVTROBHvNY4YJdqak8fEpfq5zl-WYUmxpNyIkt1Agf8CvXRQgyoOgHZGxxl35aK/s1600-h/DSCN0455.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiImpL_-ThO9QgIxEO00zQorWYdt0kwGkR4Jk2sGFiGgy791ccIvabjuUixDS7ZC661p6uWoO09OA6LVMVTROBHvNY4YJdqak8fEpfq5zl-WYUmxpNyIkt1Agf8CvXRQgyoOgHZGxxl35aK/s320/DSCN0455.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332562013071885938" border="0" /></a>This little keep sake has been so special throughout my life, and I thought it would be neat to share it with my new family. Each place card had the person's name, "Easter 2009," the menu for the night on the inside, and a list of everyone in attendance on the back. I know the whole attendance thing sounds kind of lame, but as the years go buy and we collect our place cards, we see what new members and friends joined us each year to celebrate; kind of fun, huh? (Below are just a few).<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyTxI3OIF7UdtKL8o83l79wFIa9X0mOztVNkIzl4hQBOIL28YxNZpJjWt_KJRJcQHkv0t_rIhzfqgpIglMX_q16qaag1ucBgGqlLIuMJ-WAEZwgRgBO-cqHTMHS5h-OmGtzdaiRH6sq1zT/s1600-h/DSCN0460.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyTxI3OIF7UdtKL8o83l79wFIa9X0mOztVNkIzl4hQBOIL28YxNZpJjWt_KJRJcQHkv0t_rIhzfqgpIglMX_q16qaag1ucBgGqlLIuMJ-WAEZwgRgBO-cqHTMHS5h-OmGtzdaiRH6sq1zT/s320/DSCN0460.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332563617424814018" border="0" /></a>After dinner we dyed eggs. Rightly so, Kristin's was carefully thought out and done with such precision, I can't remember if Mike did one, Alisa's was fun and polka-dotted, Tommie's was Gator blue and orange, Grant's was hmm... original (having been fully dunked in nearly every color), and mine was simple and cute. I wish I had taken a picture of these, but you'll just have to trust that they turned out beautifully.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj2IlwA2cWpDRya6u5GAbPxsYqfmksqqPg26Qu1erEOuWldKiJoBJn9OzW2h4YSVCeO8yuhpaN_FYK1egM3jmpoNzCsHaxvjTfTFOD5FpmG-NGtcdzwlKgcNmdn3KZXmY5zqPN2NuxmJZj/s1600-h/DSCN0459.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj2IlwA2cWpDRya6u5GAbPxsYqfmksqqPg26Qu1erEOuWldKiJoBJn9OzW2h4YSVCeO8yuhpaN_FYK1egM3jmpoNzCsHaxvjTfTFOD5FpmG-NGtcdzwlKgcNmdn3KZXmY5zqPN2NuxmJZj/s320/DSCN0459.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332563335435161570" border="0" /></a><br />* In order to relieve some stress (from the old apt. situation), Grant surprised me with a night out on the town. We rode the light rail to downtown Denver to watch the Denver Mammoth play at the Pepsi Center. Little did I know that this PROFESSIONAL lacrosse team was so popular. Did I mention that we planned on paying the $5/person general admission, but some lady in front of us gave us her tickets for free! We spent a good three hours or more captivated by this new and thrilling sport.<br />We were surprised to see that the Pepsi Center (where the Denver Nuggets and Avalanche play), was completely full! I thought that maybe the lower level would fill up, but never did I believe this team (or this sport for that matter), would attract so many fans.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtPakODpbLVlKmk8NaYb7H6UJ930peyQTeAHHC0zuIZSxNuWLYJfNwnwVwMheg4QqQraZNHeNicOA3dBXC-E9ONAI3vmx1OkzefdxzVR_AiOlFhgDQMBlz9Orjku_n7i3tlD9zk7qD-Ox0/s1600-h/DSCN0467.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtPakODpbLVlKmk8NaYb7H6UJ930peyQTeAHHC0zuIZSxNuWLYJfNwnwVwMheg4QqQraZNHeNicOA3dBXC-E9ONAI3vmx1OkzefdxzVR_AiOlFhgDQMBlz9Orjku_n7i3tlD9zk7qD-Ox0/s320/DSCN0467.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332562017109069010" border="0" /></a>The game started with an indoor fire show and about ten Harley-Davidson's riding out on the field carrying some of the Mammoth dance team. If that wasn't enough, there was quite an energized commentator/entertainer who called the entire game and acted as the cheer leader throughout. Needless to say, there was never a dull moment. It was great having Parker home. He went to church with us and grilled steaks for us. Parker has become a mean chef on the grill since going to college. I'm so proud of his new abilities. If you remember, when he was young he use to cook with me in the kitchen. So I think he does get it natural. Of course, this is the apron that Brittany made for me. I asked him to put it on for the pic.<br />We have been enjoying the weekend watching "The Master's".<br />Sorry we didn't get to see any of you this Easter but hopefully you had a great day with the family. Mr. Big's is a Dave & Buster's type place that has cosmic bowling, a bar, skating, billiards and the like. We really enjoyed ourselves there. Dad won the first game, and I was close behind in second. The last game Grant won and I was at the bottom. :-( Oh well, it was $1 Sunday and shoes were cheap, so it was a budget friendly outing. This morning we woke up around 8am, and it had just started snowing. After a shower we noticed it had already accumulated to about two inches! Then, we went out to get groceries cause we had nothing left in our house to eat. By the time we got out the door it was near blizzard conditions: pouring snow, blowing sideways, sight distance of about 100 ft, and roads full of snow. The new land rover (sneak peak picture!) and it's great 4WD was fantastic! Grant dubbed the car "the beast" since it drove through the snow so effortlessly. I feel so honored that she made this for her mother. (Sniff, sniff, etc) The colors and style are just perfect for me. I love it!<br />(PS. Well, I agree! You can see the zoo one of three ways. (By double decker bus, walking, or the sky lift). It was wonderful!<br /><br />Then we were off to see the USS Midway! What a ship!!!! I wanted to share it with you guys, well...at least for those of you who might wear a t-shirt. Some ladies have started a t-shirt business with scriptures on them and they are VERY HIP!!! i love the fact that they are using such a cool way to spread the word of God to the world! when you get a moment, check it out. you may not be the kind of girl to wear them but i bet you know someone who would...<br /><br />also, it is neat to know that two other "family members" (in Christ) are stepping out in faith in this bleak economy. on their blog they talk about how they who sustains them, not wall street or the government but God and they are relying on Him! THAT IS WHAT I AM DOING!!! isn't it cool to know we have a common bond in Christ :D gets me excited!!!!<br /><br /><center><a href="http://www.wildolivetees.com" target="_blank"><img alt="Wild Olive Tees" src="http://s5.tinypic.com/1zh2ul5.jpg" /></a></center>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810354921682381601.post-60698233481403208722009-03-09T06:53:00.000-07:002009-03-09T07:08:57.618-07:00we miss you<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8Q6bfZYV0go/SbUioV2VZCI/AAAAAAAAABg/IzktIlWrusY/s1600-h/ANN_1030.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; He and the other teachers with Daymar College had a meeting in Owensboro, KY on Friday, they paid for the room and I got to tag along! We decided to go onto to Nashville Saturday. We did a little shopping and got to have a nice dinner with just the two of us (which doesn't happen often) We stayed with Kim and had a wonderful time staying in her ultra cool home!!! She even surprised us by cooking her homemade pizza (sauce too). It was absolutely wonderful and I couldn't believe my eyes!!! I told her I had never seen her refrigerator so stocked before :)<br />She has become quite the cook lately so I thougth I would show off her skills to you all.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBEFwH_3WI/AAAAAAAAAEo/TTBLYHv_Cf8/s1600-h/DSC00053.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBEFwH_3WI/AAAAAAAAAEo/TTBLYHv_Cf8/s400/DSC00053.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309818826278296930" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Here she is rolling out her HOMEMADE dough (i am so impressed) with a glass vase she has. Don't worry...mom is giving her grandma's rolling pin.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And here she is adding her HOMEMADE sauce (Aunt Pat, you would be so proud!!!) that is very very yummy!!! ~~notice the sauce in the plastic container in the first picture. it even looks like grandmommie's container...hmmmm.<br />(will be making it as soon as my head feels like it will stay attached to my body when i get up from the bed)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBEnePRlDI/AAAAAAAAAEw/as6W2kHJCZ4/s1600-h/DSC00055.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBEnePRlDI/AAAAAAAAAEw/as6W2kHJCZ4/s400/DSC00055.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309819405592532018" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />and now she is adding fresh ingredients....let me tell you, fresh makes a pizza!<br />notice that she is totally ok with her pizza NOT being round...i told her i was making it much harder than it had to be, therefore, i will no longer stress over a round pizza or not!<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBFdZsz6BI/AAAAAAAAAE4/3xgjGWWzMdA/s1600-h/DSC00058.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBFdZsz6BI/AAAAAAAAAE4/3xgjGWWzMdA/s400/DSC00058.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309820332087175186" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />now, the trick is to put it on parchment paper (to keep from sticking) and then put it on a preheated cast iron pizza round (500 degrees) which she did and let it cook for 5 minutes and then added the cheese and let it continue cooking for 3 more minutes.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBGHjYROQI/AAAAAAAAAFA/P56MwM3aPxk/s1600-h/DSC00065.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_CvjBMzhEWSk/SbBGHjYROQI/AAAAAAAAAFA/P56MwM3aPxk/s400/DSC00065.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309821056239876354" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Let me just say she has a way with pizza! She is doing a great job and loves this little boy.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />On Thursday, Britt and I went downtown to "Molly Brown's house". You might know her for the movie about Molly Brown or being a survivor of the Titanic. Actually her name was Maggie but the media changed it when they made the movie. You see Maggie doesn't rhyme very well with other words for songs. (Haggie, saggie, laggie, etc) So the name was changed to Molly. When silver was worthless then he developed mining for gold. Of course, they were rich fast. She is also known for being an outspoken lady for the Irish people. These people were who she had a heart for because of her heritage. Since they had money, she tried to educate herself. Being from Mo with only an 8th grade education she desired more education. So she learned many languages and instruments. In the house, she had 2 pianos. One was for Molly to play and one was for her servants. See when she had a piano lesson she felt like she was paying for the time. So who cared how many were actually taking the lesson. (piano, languages, etc) Educating her people was so important to her and her legacy.<br />They wouldn't let us take pics in the house but here is one from the outside.<br /><br />The week was awesome with Britt! I did miss Greg and Gizmo. As I sat in a corner reading some books and making overdue phone calls to friends back in Arkansas, Grant was getting to know Andy and his business.<br /><br />After an hour or so Grant pulled me back over to say goodbye to Andy, and we headed out the door. Of course the first question out of my mouth was, "So, so? Did you get the job?!?!" I was expecting him to say that it went well and that we would hear more from Andy later. But with a huge grin on his face Grant turned to me and said, "I got the job!"<br /><br />This was the best news! Not only did Grant get hired, but he will be working for a company and with a small group of men that he believes in and that he is excited to be a part of. Andy and his team of four other men (now 5 ;-)), install custom cabinetry for large corporations in Denver and in the greater mountain regions. They do work for everyone from Starbucks to Microsoft. And Andy's words were "Our job is to make sure that the people who hire us are more successful and satisfied when our work is done."<br /><br />The group works hard, plays hard (they go fishing when they go on jobs outside the city), and looks out for one another. Oh, and did I mention they're all believers? They all look out for each other and make sure that they all live lives of integrity at every moment: in their job, on their breaks, and at home. On top of that, Andy's goal is to see his guys do well and be taken care of in life.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEv2Cor-DoAFt9B4qkAWO_u37HFa6VB50-K-VF5MSGLY4HvoNb13VlQOx83gCtXnzu8_qSR3AyLr9n0lGlaZVVhdx3qXE_xPxQkXjI6C7HwybjUwp4OSDK-dHNn7uBMj1oCf50FbYbbC7-/s1600-h/hired.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 282px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEv2Cor-DoAFt9B4qkAWO_u37HFa6VB50-K-VF5MSGLY4HvoNb13VlQOx83gCtXnzu8_qSR3AyLr9n0lGlaZVVhdx3qXE_xPxQkXjI6C7HwybjUwp4OSDK-dHNn7uBMj1oCf50FbYbbC7-/s320/hired.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298415219559358594" border="0"></a><br />You can only imagine how thrilled we are for Grant to have this opportunity. I am so thankful that Daddy had the forethought to go ahead and get everything ready to use the generator. Just several weeks ago he had RECC (electric co) come out and he, rick and tim got the service ready so just in case, all he would have to do is flip a switch out on the pole and put the generator to the box and it runs off the tractor. (that is the very short version)<br />The entire county is without power. We found out that hurricane ike prepared a lot of people, they went out and purchase vent less heaters and gas logs for instances like this. so many people have some kind heat but not water...we are very very blessed.<br />Gaylon, the kids and I, grandma and monte are all staying with mom and dad. we don't know how long it will be. i hope we don't drive mom crazy. grandma and monte have done very well!!! please pray that it continues. mom is making monte sleep with her so she can keep him from peeing in the floor (he has started back to doing this...probably acting out) but he has not and we are thankful!!! grandma is good...she just feels like she has to be doing something if anyone is up in the kitchen. and you have to watch her cause she is fast as lightening about getting something that is not hers and putting in her purse, pocket or some place that must take a while to find :) it can be comical at times LOL!<br />Gaylon, Dad, Jonathan and Ricky are on the way to Union City...they(the city only) have diesel, gas and electric over there. EVERYWHERE else, including Paducah is without power. It looks like a war zone around here. (as you can see)<br />The pictures will be a surprising to you... it is sad but we are still grateful. no one is hurt, our homes are in good shape (just pray the pipes don't burst at our houses that don't have electric or heat) <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">***it will not upload right now, will send them later****</span><br /><br />We have no phone service and no internet so we can't talk to you. Thank goodness Uncle Carl has internet!!! you can email and such, i will come back over later and check it again.<br /><br />We love you all and inspite of all the changing of the scenery, we are still very blessed and God is taking care of us!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4810354921682381601.post-86669745191400848252009-01-27T18:54:00.000-08:002009-01-27T18:58:21.885-08:00Are you Blessed?<table class="MsoNormalTable" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="padding: 0in;" valign="top"> <div id="yiv1373106413"><table class="MsoNormalTable" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="padding: 0in;" valign="top"> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 18pt; color: rgb(255, 0, 127); font-family: 'Comic Sans MS';">It looks like we all have troubles but some people more than others.
